Centrally located and the home to Real Madrid FC, this area is only a few streets away from Paseo de la Castellana, one of Madrid's main streets. Needless to say the area can get very busy when there's a match on...you may catch a glimpse of some of the Real Madrid team in some of the nearby upmarket hotels. The stadium was modernized in 1982 and can now accommodate up to 125,000 visitors.
Location: A few streets to the east of Paseo de la Castellana, nearest metro is Santiago Bernabeu and buses 14, 27, 40, 43, 120, 147 and 150 regularly run through the area. Generally a busy area with many modern buildings and shopping centres.
Sports: Football fans can take a tour of the Bernabeu Stadium, and learn about its history and the home team Real Madrid FC. Recently night-time tours have been introduced, culminating with a flamenco and music spectacle. More information can be found at www.realcafebernabeu.es
