San Antonio, Ibiza, really does offer something for everybody, it's an excellent starting point for all sorts of island excursions, and only 25 mins from the airport. The pre-season months of May and June, and the later months of September and October are very popular with families with young children and couples, who enjoy the new promenade, the safe, shallow waters of the bay and the fantastic beaches, just a short ferry ride away.
Location:
Geographically, the municipality of San Antonio is situated in the north west of the island. It has an extension of 125 km² or 48 square miles. Apart from the town, it comprises of the areas of San Rafael (Sant Rafel de sa Creu), Santa Ines (Santa Agnès de Corona) and San Mateo (Sant Mateu d'Aubarca), all of them located in the interior of the municipality.
General Information:
Once San Antonio was a simple fishing village and became a pioneering city for tourism when the first hotels of the island were built here. Nowadays the town is one of the most important centers in Ibiza for visitors from all over the world.
Where to go:
We recommend to try a boat trip from San Antonio to one of the near coves and beaches (e.g. Cala Bassa or Cala Comte). Visit the fortified church in the town center, see the pottery workshops in San Rafael or just watch people walking by... You can also get away from it all, as there are beaches all over the island - you can even go au naturel in some areas. And there is plenty for families as well. A good way to explore with the children is by boat - take them on a cruise to the secluded beach of Cala Moli.
If you fancy some culture, explore Ibiza Old Town - take a leisurely stroll along the cobbled streets and enjoy its beautiful views and stunning architecture.
Beaches:
Sandy beaches around the bay are reached by regular ‘water buses’. Within the bay area is a selection of shops and bars and a choice of self catering accommodation and hotels. There is a stretch of sandy beach and a frequent water ferry service is avaialble across the bay to the town area.
Best period to go:

July and August are the best months to come if you are looking for buzzing nightlife, although most clubs do open mid-June and close mid-September. There is a really large selection of restaurants in San Antonio. At style directions everything is represented, which the palate desires: Spanish & Ibizenkisch, Italian, native fish, steak houses, Chinese, Indian up to Mexican. And if you should have rented a car, reach in the environment of San Antonio also various Top restaurants, which are sufficient for highest requirements.
Comments:
San Antonio attracts everybody by its scenic sunset with the silhouette of Conejera island which can be watched from the terraces of several musical cafes and it is loved by families for its maritime promenade and pedestrian streets, offering excellent shops, restaurants or a nightly fountain light show.
