Situated on the East Coast, Puerto del Carmen is the principle and busiest resort on the Island. The new town of Puerto Del Carmen offers a fantastic variety of both Daytime and Nighttime activities to suit people of all ages and nationalities.
Where to go:
The old town of Puerto Del Carmen is a picturesque fishing port containing a wide variety of fabulous restaurants. Here you can eat anything from a traditional Canarian dish, Italian pasta or pizza to Irish or English breakfast. This is definitely a must for those who love fine foods in wonderful surroundings.
Beaches:
The main beach in Puerto Del Carmen is known as Playa Grande. This is a long beach facing the busy resort. There are numerous beaches in the area running from Arrecife airport, Guacimeta, right through to the old town of Puerto Del Carmen. Adjacent to the old town lies a beautiful picturesque beach, Playa Chica. This beach is host to a wide variety of sporting activities. Here one can take diving lessons, rent jet skis, go Parasailing or do a touch of Snorkeling.
Sports:
In Puerto del Carmen there are numerous diving schools, deep sea fishing excursions, jet ski hire, parasailing and much more. Also in the resort there are professional gyms providing sporting facilities including squash and tennis.

Lanzarote and it's surrounding islands offer fantastic game fishing for Marlin, Tuna, Dorado and Wahoo as well as Sharks such as Blue, Mako and Hammerhead.
While Bottom-fishing is possible all year round for many Canarian species, the main trolling season for species such as Blue Marlin and Tuna is between April and November.
There is also good shore fishing all around the island for a multitude of different species.
Nightlife:
The centre of Nightlife in Lanzarote is the 'Avenida de las Playas' in Puerto del Carmen and the 'Centro Atlantico' in particular, however there are Bars and Discos in all of the main resorts.
Paradise:
Paradise Beach Club is a disco bar run by a professional team that has been involved with clubs in Lanzarote for many years.
