Park Güell is another of Gaudi's creations and lies north of Barcelona centre, and is about 20 minutes walk from Lesseps Metro station.
The park is full of trees and shrubs and as you walk around you'll see unusual and colourful sculptures, mosaics, walkways and tiling and is a peaceful, less frenetic area of the city. Take your camera for the fabulous views of Barcelona from the park.
Getting There: If you want to walk to Güell park from the nearest metro (Lesseps), be advised that it is quite a steep walk for about 20 minutes from the metro station. The other option is to catch a taxi or catch bus 24 from Plaça de Catalunya which will take you right up to the entrance.
Art and Culture: The snake shaped bench surrounds a round square in the park from where there is a wonderful landscape view of Barcelona. The bench is made with small pieces of ceramics and it's very comfortable. Another example of some of the stunning architecture and designs in Barcelona.
Events: Don't forget to see the Trencadis, which are stunning mosaics, created by Josep Maria Jujo, Gaudí's collaborator.
