General Information:
As the name suggests, this area started life as a golf resort. However, due to rapid expansion, there are now more non-golfers than golfers staying here.
Where to go:
Venture out a little further to the busy resorts of Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos for some lively nightlife or take a day trip to the Islands most famous attraction; Mount Teide. The 2-hour drive it takes to reach the peak is well worth it, with the opportunity to witness spectacular views and scenery.
Attractions:
The area is soon to be the very best area of south Tenerife with lots of new property established in the area. There are lots of new restaurants and places of interest, and its very handy to visit all the lovely places Tenerife has to offer, such as Teide, los Cristianos, rural Tenerife.
Facilities:
Also near to hand are many activities such as horse riding, fishing, canoeing and some of the best fish restaurants around. At Winter Gardens there is a new championship size bowling green which is becoming popular with all ages and should be given a try. For those who like to take life a little slower, why not simply unwind and soak up the sunshine by the pool or visit the Shops and Restaurants that the Main Square has to offer.
Sports:
Ever since its 1987 inaugural event, a competition for professionals, the 27 greens and fairways of Golf del Sur on Tenerife have provided the backdrop for various top international tournaments. In 1989 they bore witness to José Maria Olazábal’s victory in the Open de Tenerife, a feat he repeated in 1992. The following year they watched as David Gilford won the event, as did Mark James in ‘94. In 1995, Golf del Sur (Tenerife) hosted the Shell Wonderful World of Golf tournament and its head-to-head battle between Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson.

Golf del Sur is perfectly located in the south of Tenerife. It is only a 10 minute drive away from Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas and the airport and is ideal for the many activities that South Tenerife can offer you. If you rent a car the whole of this beautiful island is ready for you to explore.
