Chodov is a suburb of Prague which lies in the south-east of the city, and became part of the Prague municipality in 1974. It is an area in which many high-rise housing developments have been built, and during the Velvet Revolution of 1989 there was rapid development of commercial sites such as car dealerships and also some areas of detached housing.
Getting Around: It has a Metro station, on the C line, and takes approximately 25-30 minutes to reach the centre of Prague.
Places to visit: The Chodovská vodní tvrz or Chodov fort is a round building dating back from the 13th century and is now a cultural centre, including a gallery and recital room.
Prague City Archives, in a striking modern building, is located in Chodov.
