Cala Millor, one of the best tourist centres in Mallorca and one of the most well-known and accepted in nearly all of Western Europe, began in the late fifties. Fine and white sand, blue and transparent water and natural protected surroundings, are the main natural resources which identify Cala Millor.

Getting There:
It is a 2 hour 15 minute flight from London to Mallorca. The transfer to Cala Millor is then around 60 minutes to the resort.

Where to go:
Tourists can enjoy walking along the beach of Cala Millor, going pony trekking, walking or cycling through the green areas of the surroundings. There are a wide variety of complementary sports like tennis, squash, water skiing, sailing, and golf available in the area. Most of Mallorca's east coast is dotted with tiny creeks and coves, however, the beach at Cala Millor stretches for more than 1 kilometre along a wide sheltered bay. This beach is considered by many to be one of the best on the island, with clear water and gently sloping sands. Parasols and sunbeds can be hired with many water sports available, including a windsurfing school.

Beaches:
The beach at Cala Millor is one of the longest the island has to offer, and is very popular tourist destination. With many of hotels, bars restaurants and shops just behind the beach, there is always plenty to do. On the beach itself umbrellas, sun beds, a variety of water sports, bars, restaurants and clubs. It also features many events aimed at tourists during the summer.

Entertainment:
Start the evening with a quite meal and reflect on the day spent under the hot Mediterranean Sun. Take a stroll along the beach and prepare yourself for an evening exploring the clubs.

Attractions:
Glass bottom boats make regular trips from Cala Millor along the scenic east coast. These go either north to Cala Ratjada or south to Porto Cristo. The Fantasy Park outdoor play area near to the centre of Cala Millor is a paradise for children. It's next to the Parc de la Mar gardens and is open everyday from 10:00 to 21:00. You can see giraffes, zebra, elephants and monkeys at the safari park between Cala Millor and Sa Coma. You can either drive around the 4 kilometre circuit in your own car or take the zoo's own mini train. Getting there from Cala Millor is easy on the parks own bus which leaves regularly from 9:00 to 21:00.

Facts for Travellers:
The tourist office is located on Paseo Maritimo, Cala Millor. Tel: +34 971 585864. Fax: +34 971 568 101.

Nightlife:
Q Club is the largest and most popular disco in the resort, and is built on split levels. The dress code is casual and the atmosphere relaxed. The music is a mixture of Spanish and international and is open from 10:00 to 06:00. The other popular club is Magic, serving a good mix of music and a lively atmosphere.

Gastronomy:
L'Angolo is a typical Italian restaurant in Cala Millor, with a shaded outdoor terrace. Its pizza and lasagne are always popular, but the house speciality is crumbed veal escalope. Ca's Candil is an excellent Spanish grill restaurant with a covered outdoor terrace. Try their barbecued meat dishes, such as pork steaks, chicken breasts, or as an alternative you could have paella or lobster, along with a good range of Spanish tapas.

Comments:
Cala Millor wishes to stand out and be different from the other tourist destinations in Mallorca. They have achieved this by organizing the already famous International Hot Air Balloon Regata and the equally well-known Challenger event.
