Nick-named the “Queen of the Calas” and situated on the south coast just 11km from Ferreries, is Cala Galdana, one of the most beautiful pine clad bays in Menorca. The name itself is a corruption of the Moorish Guad-al-Ana (The Barranco of St Anne) after whom also a nearby farm is named.

However, undoubtedly the best view of the bay is from the bar situated on the rocky “island” at the western end of the beach. Called El Mirador, it can easily be reached by a footbridge, or for those ever tolerant parents with children, by a short climb up some rocks from the beach. Views extend both out to sea and across the bay itself - certainly worth a photograph.
