Cala Finestrat is a little gem, with its wide deep, sandy beach and shallow water, perfect for children. With easy access to the attractions of Benidorm, it is the ideal resort for those who want a more peaceful holiday, and great for day trips to chill out and relax.
The area has an "village" quality about it, with a small, but excellent selection of cafés and bars. La Cala, a charming and relatively unspoiled beach is just round the corner.
Beaches:
Cala Finestrat has a small, intimate beach, with its own microclimate, sheltered from the southerly winds by mountains. Its fine golden sand and crystalline waters have won it the EU's coveted Blue Flag every year since 1998.
Bathers can enjoy the sun all day long due to the fact the beach faces south. It is also an ideal place for snorkelling and scuba diving, water sports and sand sports such as beach volleyball. Every mid-August the beach is host to an International Beach Volleyball Competition.
Leisure:
In the area cove visitors will find restaurants, cafes, pubs etc. You can also enjoy mountain sports such as rock-climbing, cycling and hiking since the beach is only a few kilometres from the impressive El Puig Campana Mountain.
Worth a visit....:
Costa Blanca Casino provides low stakes and high amounts of entertainment, featuring all the usual Roulette, Black Jack and other games. Dress code is smart/casual, identification is required to enter. Open from 20:00 to 04:00, near Villajoyosa on the road to Benidorm (approximately 10 km).
Nightlife:
By night, if you are looking for some excitement, you can try the Casino just up the road, or just enjoy the lively scene and entertainment around the beach. But then again, you do have Benidorm just down the road, the best nightlife in Europe!
