As its name implies this street cuts across the Eixample area diagonally, uniting the areas of Pedralbes and Sarriá, with the coast, and the area features many interesting architectural sights. Avenida Diagonal is one of the main streets in Barcelona, and the northern side is fairly close to University Village.
Getting Around: Metro line 3 will take you to the city centre in about 5-10 minutes.
Shopping: Nearby in the Eixample area you can find many of the upmarket clothes shops, including many of the famous international designers such as Chanel, Loewe and Maxmara.
Attractions: Highlights include the Casa Terrades and the Casa de les Punxes (N-12), with its six towers ending in needle like structures, by Puig i Cadafalch in 1905. On the other side by the same architect the Palau Baró of Quadras home of the Museu de la Música (music museum).
Facilities: In the background you can see part of the La Illa building, a large shopping mall with all kinds of shops. Next to it there's a great disco called Bikini. Another recommended disco in this area is "Luz de Gas" (Aribau/Diagonal).
